SFBI is a globally acknowledged center for Artisan bread and pastry skills and allows students to learn the industry of baking with state of the art bakery equipment which can produce multiple bread and pastry produce to accustom students to commercially orientated production. The tutoring staff have attained the highest qualifications from international and United States baking and culinary teaching establishments in France, Switzerland and California to name but a few key locations.
SFBI’s Curriculum and Classes
SFBI courses provide hands on training and instruction in day long classes. Full time education deepens the student’s knowledge and appreciation of baking skills early on. Class sizes are kept to a maximum of 16 students to ensure individual attention from tutors. State of the art bakery equipment is used in classrooms to accustom students to commercial high volume bakery industry conditions at an early stage in their training to gain production skills. SFBI students come from every area of the bakery industry including managers, bakers and instructors who want to learn the latest trends.
Admissions policy for 3 to 5 day workshops include a 50 per cent deposit with the registration form before starting the workshop. Registration will be acknowledged once space is available in the workshop. Cancellation fees may only be refunded in exceptional circumstances such as a tutor’s indisposition. Student’s should make sure of all details relating to cancellation via the website. Weekend workshops are available daily from 8 am to 4pm and cover pastry baking and creation at home for baguettes, sour dough bread and viennoisere. Students should bring a pen and notepad to class.
Costs for tuition:
- Three-day Workshops $598 less 50% deposit $299.
- Five-day Workshops $998 less 50% deposit $499.
Any notice of cancellation must be made in writing. Cancellations received 6 weeks before will be fully refunded and there is a $30 administration fee. There is no refund for cancellations at any later day and cancellation will attract a $150 transfer fee.
